Single Mom's and other Support Group Ministries

This fall, we kicked off our first official Single Mom's Support Group here. There were 15 ladies present and we had a great time together. I have been collecting different ideas, articles, devotionals, etc. for a group like this for years. The first meeting we mainly shared ideas on what they wanted from this group and I shared with them the visions God had given me for this group.

These are some of the topics we will be exploring during our upcoming meetings:

·  Relationships with our children, other family members, the father of our children, friends and most importantly our relationship with God.

·  Discipline for ourselves and our children

·  Our health, body, mind and spirit

·  Responsibilities for our children and learning what is really our responsibility in any situation and learning how to leave the rest to God

·  Learning how to better manage our finances

·  Spiritual disciplines such as prayer, grace, forgiveness, quiet time with God, etc.

·  Learning the difference between safe and unsafe people

·  What is codependency?

·  Serenity Prayer study

·  Book: Life Healing Choices

·  Fighting Stress

·  Sharing Recipes

·  Fun games to share

·  Accountability partners

·  Anger and domestic abuse

·  Dealing with the other parent's different rules, morals, etc.

·  Having some one come and talk to us about car care and home repair.

We will be meeting twice a month and will be able to offer child care for all ages.

I will also be trying to connect these ladies to other ministries within our church and community to help them find answers to make the changes need to turn their broken homes into healthy single parent homes.
