Advice from the Blender: How to blend so nobody
gets creamed
by Susan J. Hetrick
Welcome
to the blender!
The statistics aren’t pretty. Almost 70% of remarriages with children
end in divorce, most remarriages do not last 5 years, and it can take up to ten
years for a stepfamily to blend! There has to be something else; something between
The Brady Bunch and these dire predictions.
There is. In Advice From The Blender, author Susan Hetrick gives
you eight ingredients for blending your family. She will show you how your family
can succeed, and how to:
- Overcome “we’ll live happily ever after” syndrome
- Choose to love children who wish you were dead
- Bond as a family without
resorting to duct tape; and much more!
With discussion questions for the entire family and a House Blend Recipe,
Susan Hetrick whips up an honest, inspiring and funny serving of the “house
blend” with a Christian twist.
“Advice from the Blender is a wonderful book, filled with practical
suggestions every stepfamily can use. You'll meet real-life stepfamilies who

stepfamily success.”

“Advice From the Blender is an incredibly rich resource for those entering
the world of blended families. Susan Hetrick uses numerous examples from an expansive
cross-section of people. She does a phenomenal job of addressing the challenges
that the couples face in bringing together two families, as well as issues the
children may struggle to overcome. The questions at the end of each chapter are
a must-do; they will encourage honest communication and revelation. For those
that are on the brink of blending or those who are established as a blended family,
this book will give you a renewed sense of hope and purpose.”
